Whenever the Rule of Law deteriorates, evil and wickedness overtake righteousness, he (The Almighty God) would incarnate or come down to Earth to re-establish the Rule of Law and protect the Virtuous and the righteous people and destroy the evil and the wicked.
The king Ugrasena of Andhakas was a kind and good ruler, but not his eldest son Kamsa, and Vasudeva the son of King Surasena would get married to Devaki daughter of Devaka( brother of Ugrasena) and to them Lord Krishna would born(eighth child) or incarnate in human avatar.
It was a prophecy that would claim Kamsa would be killed by the eighth child of Devaki, disturbed, kamsa would use all his strength to kill Lord Krishna, but would that happen ?
The book revolves around that central theme , and how by god’s grace after the birth of Lord Krishna, he would be sent to Gokulam , to be taken care by the King Nandagopa and Yasoda.
On knowing it, Kamsa would send his demons(asuras) from poothana(demoness), Sakatasura, to Thirunavartha, but of no use and could not kill the Supreme.
In subsequent chapters, the readers would get to know how, Lord Krishna would fail kamsa’s demons one after the other.
Finally, after trying everything, kamsa decided to conduct Dhanur Yaga or Bow penance at Mathura and invites Krishna and Balrama( seventh child of Devaki) , upon arrival, he would ask them, if they are that powerful, they should fight and defeat his demons in a wrestling match, unperturbed, Lord Krishna, not only would defeat them, but also in the end would kill Kamsa , and as said the prophecy would come true and the evil and wicked would be defeated by the Virtuous and the righteous, Sri Krishna- The Supreme.
